The Massier family has been associated with pottery and ceramic art in Vallauris since 1707.

However rewarding it may be to retrace the steps of one's ancestors, our aim is not simply to recreate the past through the reproduction of the works that made the name Massier such a significant part of history. We have chosen instead to build on this undeniably important heritage and to take it into the future.

Céline and Cédric Massier are contempory ceramic artists based in Vallauris. Our work consists principally of unique pieces, sculpted or modelled, in clay or in porcelain.

They want in particular to change the appearance of the material we work with to give it the characteristics of other materials such as wood, stone or metal.

Their approach as ceramic artists is to defend with passion and rigour, our work with clay though our line of contemporary pieces.

They are particularly inspired by the different effects obtained through the use of contrasting clays, colours and metallic glazes.

Clay is a versatile medium of limitless form and inexhaustible potential. All that remains is to inject new enthusiasm into this ceramic art to help it evolve in the world of contemporary art.
